- Choose a component and click the schematic to place it. Select it to edit its properties; Pinout editor customizes transistor pinouts.
- Click a pin, then another to wire them. Drag a selected wire’s handle to reshape it. Sticky components connect touching pins and wires.
- Use quick or custom net labels. Matching names join nets; Offboard creates edge connections, while Onboard labels internal nets.
- Import loads KiCad
.kicad_sch files. Choose Compact (x)/(x+y) for Vero or Perf (beta) for perfboard. Set board limits, then press Generate.
- On either layout, drag parts, connections and resize handles; switch FRONT/BACK to inspect it. Check warnings after edits.
- Hover near the bottom to reveal the dock: add text, images, links or cuts, or delete selections. Cuts are Vero-only. Drag an annotation’s notch to resize it; double-click text to edit it.
- Update ID’s renumbers left to right, then top to bottom. Update Vero updates part details without rearranging the board.
- Settings lets you unlock edge connections and enable dual PNG export. Export PNG/BOM or save your project; mobile Share offers image ratios.
Useful shortcuts
F1/F2 selects Select/Wire; R rotates, F mirrors, Q/W zooms out/in, V generates, F11 toggles fullscreen, Delete/Backspace deletes, and Esc cancels. Use Ctrl/Cmd with A to select all schematic parts, C/V to copy/paste, D to duplicate, S to save, Z to undo, and Y or Shift+Z to redo. Ctrl/Cmd+click toggles schematic selections; middle-button drag pans the schematic.
On an empty board hole, Ctrl+left-click adds a Vero cut; Alt+left-click adds a link or Perf solder run. On a selected Perf run, Shift+left-click adds/removes editing points. Select an electrolytic; scroll up/down over the board to enlarge/shrink its body. On touchscreens, drag empty space to pan and pinch to zoom.
